Evesham: William Pickering was charged with being drunk and disorderly in The Leys on June 1. PC Groves said defendant was drunk and was challenging people to fight. He had just come from the Reserve and was fined 10s including costs.

Evesham: Presentations by letters of thanks signed by the Prime Minister and Home Secretary to the Special Police who were enrolled during the General Strike will be made at the Evesham County Petty Sessions at 10.45am next Monday, and at the Evesham Borough Sessions at the same time on Tuesday. As many specials as possible are asked to attend.

Evesham: The employees of Messrs JM Hodges and Son of Swan Lane, Evesham, had their summer outing last Wednesday when they travelled by coach to Porthcawl.
They had luncheon at a beach caf and left at 6pm, returning home through the Wye Valley where they broke the journey for refreshments.

Pershore: Two ancient monuments in Pershore Abbey are to be repaired by the Friends of Pershore Abbey and dedicated in memory of the Friends' founder, Dr W T Farncombe. The Friends decided at their annual meeting to renovate the Hazelwood memorials and to place protective screens around them.
