MALVERN Seagulls gained their first ever win over Dudley/ Kingswinford in this cracking game at Spring Lane on Saturday.
MALVERN SEAGULLS 15pts, DUDLEY/KINGSWINFORD HAWKS 13pts
Both team started a bit nervously and the visitors capitalised on this with a fine try but good rucking by the Seagulls allowed Ian Fox to break away for a superb try going past three defenders.
Several changes at half-time upset the balance of the home team but Steve Oliver soon got the side back on track scoring a good try converted by Mike Brannelly.
Dudley hit back with a penalty conversion but a lovely drop goal by Rob Francis put the Seagulls back in control.
Dudley did get a last-minute try but the Seagulls held out for the win showing the resolve that has been displayed by the whole team this season.
