THE MRFC Under 11 'Tigers' took a prowl to Hereford last weekend still licking the wounds from their mauling at the hands of Cheltenham.
The Tigers at last showed the skills that they have worked so hard at this season, with some excellent rucking, keeping possession their way and showing phases of relentless attacking drive. Unfortunately they were beaten back off the line by Hereford on several occasions and as such missed a number of what would have been key tries. The Tigers were desperate for a win and, still missing the much needed Tom Hale and Louis Jones, showed their famous heart and despite ultimately losing the game 43-17, they undoubtedly showed themselves a better side.
Man of the Match was Sam 'Pokey' Pocock who is proving indispensable in centre and was denied a try inches out by last ditch Hereford defence. Mention must go to Michael Webber, Sam Merley and Harry Jelley who together with their second row are starting to form a very formidable front five.
We now have a break for a few weeks and coach Andy Page, who is very proud of his mighty lions, wishes them all a good Christmas rest and looks forward to reporting progress in the New Year.
