BROADWAY village green was the scene of great hilarity at the annual Father Christmas race, which was held last Wednesday.
The Dormy House team were the worthy winners, with runners up St Michael's Church followed by St Mary's RC School Friends in third place. There was some controversy, however, when a team were disqualified for the first time ever.
Fellow competitors cried foul when Father Christmas' trousers split, turning the costume into a skirt, making it easier to get on and off.
Organiser, Dottie Friedli explained: "It's like a relay. Team members have to run to a base and pull on the Father Christmas outfits, then run to the next base and pull them off again. It was all very great fun and provided lots of entertainment for shoppers who turned out in force to watch."
