ARP/O50: Once again the meeting was very well attended when the speaker was Richard Westcott who spoke about his life as a 'Pantomime Dame'. This proved a very entertaining subject, he demonstrated the application of his make-up and his costume. Finishing with a sing song, a good time was had by all. More than 40 members enjoyed a Christmas lunch at the Broom Hall Restaurant at the beginning of the month and more recently a mince pie and sherry morning was held, this will be followed by the club's Christmas dinner on December 20, at the Pershore Football Club. This will be the last meeting at this club, due to the popularity of ARP/O50, membership has grown so rapidly it was felt a larger venue was necessary. Thanks were due to the club for their hospitality over the last few years and so from the January meeting the group will meet at The Berkeley Arms at Spetchley. The speaker on January 23 will be Mr C Bowden, his talk is entitled 'Aboard HM Yacht Britannia'. The meeting will start at 10.30am, lunch will be available. We look forward to meeting old and new members at The Berkeley Arms, Spetchley.
FILM AT NUMBER 8: Pershore and District Film Society, please note there will be no film showing at Number 8 on Saturday and on December 29. January 5 Bread and Roses cert (15). The first US set film from director Ken Loach, the film concentrates on the plight of a group of Latino immigrant cleaners during a 'Justice for Janitors' strike. A powerful film.
