IT'S games like Saturday when you wonder just who would want to be a goalkeeper.
Stuart Brock had just signed a two-year extension to his contract, reward for being one of the players of the season so far for Kidderminster Harriers.
Boss Jan Molby acknowledged Brock had hardly put a foot wrong in helping Harriers to the second best defensive record in Division Three.
But when things go wrong for keepers, it is far more obvious than in any other position on the pitch.
And that is exactly what happened to Brock as Harriers contrived to throw away an hour of dominating Exeter by losing 2-1.
They will be cursing missed chances after Dean Bennett's fifth goal in as many league games gave them a thin cushion.
In fairness to Brock, his double error would have been no way near as costly if Harriers had finished Exeter off earlier.
By the time Bennett scored in the 31st minute, on-loan strikers Bo Henriksen and Colin Larkin had both found themselves with space in the box.
But Henriksen's first-time effort on three minutes was too close to keeper Arjan Van Heusden.
And Larkin took too much time over a gilt-edged chance 11 minutes later, giving Van Heusden the chance to race out of his goal and parry.
The chances were provided by classy midfielder Ritchie Appleby and the livewire Bennett with the duo combining to give Harriers the lead.
Appleby laid a perfect ball into the path of Bennett who strode through and tucked away a confident 12-yard finish.
It was the first goal Exeter had conceded in 481 minutes but there should have been another when Henriksen headed a clear chance wide six minutes before half-time.
The visitors continued to run the show in the second half but came up against stronger resistance.
Centre-back Abdou Sall was only denied by a Barry McConnell goal-line clearance on 65 minutes but the day was to go badly wrong just four minutes later.
Brock drove a poor clearance straight to the opposition and the ball eventually fell for Graeme Tomlinson to chip over the stranded keeper from 30 yards.
Shell-shocked Harriers shipped the winner on 74 minutes despite Ian Clarkson's best efforts to hook the ball away.
However, it was ruled Steve Flack's flick header from a Chris Curran long throw had crossed the line.
Brock was again left red-faced after missing his punch but should take consolation from his previous good form.
Despite their winning run being curtailed at the four-game mark, Molby's men must remember they could and should have buried their opponents after playing some slick passing football.
