REGARDING Arshad Mahmood's letter (You Say, December 6), I wish to make some points.
Any ideological manifestation (including religion) has always become mixed quickly with politics, culture, mentality, economic interests, survival and things such envy, pride, greed and violence. It is part and parcel of man's nature and spirit.
The Koran - fruit of nearly 300 years of deliberations - has its share of contradictions and vague statements.
The Christian mind has created a way of life that drives many non-Christians to imitation of its institutions.
The Islamic Empire expanded through the sword up to Central France in 732 and later on to Constantinople and to the walls of Vienna.
A Christian is free to convert to Islam but, if a Muslim turns Christian, there are penalties.
Let us have more fairness and objectivity and less hypocrisy.
