PUPILS from two schools in the Malvern area shone in a countywide competition to write a modern-day Diary of Anne Frank.
Joanne Bentley and Josh Woodward, both of Longdon CE Primary School, and Kate Farrant and Alexander Buxton, of Madresfield Primary, will be presented with awards at the opening of an Anne Frank exhibition in Worcester Cathedral.
They were set the task of writing a diary similar to the famous account of Nazi persecution, but set in modern-day Britain from the point of view of an asylum seeker or refugee smuggled into the country. They will receive prizes from the Bishop of Dudley, the Rt Rev David Walker, on January 4, at 10.30am in the cathedral. The exhibition runs from January 7 to 28.
