REDDITCH have got their man - almost.
Stourport leading scorer Lee Booth signed for the club this morning but his former club are claiming Rod Brown, who left Walshes Meadow for Redditch a month ago, made an illegal approach for the striker.
But Brown says the Dr Martens Western club are threatening to delay signing his release papers because of their allegation.
"I would tell Mr Brown to be concerned with goings-on at Redditch United and leave Stourport to make their own decisions," said Swifts secretary Nigel Green.
Mr Green refused to comment on any action Stourport would take.
"We've done everything by the book," said Brown.
"There is obviously some bad feeling there but we have nothing to fear and hope to have Lee available for the Halesowen Town match."
Under Dr Martens rules Brown cannot sign any more of his Swifts squad this season after bringing in Brendan Hackett and Booth.
Former player-manager Nicky Cross has joined Sutton Coldfield Town as a player and could make his debut along with fellow Reds old boy Nigel Brown in tomorrow's trip to Mangotsfield.
