LANGLAND Sports' Worcester Division One side ran out comfortable winners on Saturday.
LANGLAND SPORTS 4, GOODREST SPORTS 2
The game was very even for the first 25 minutes but from that point on it was a game that Langland Sports dominated.
The breakthrough came when Langlands scored following a goal mouth scramble from which Sam Dakin toe-poked home. The second goal came ten minutes later when Cliff Gardiner's acute angle shot from 20 yards looped over the Goodrest keeper.
The start of the second half saw Goodrest score from a corner through Andrew Learner. This was the wake up call for Langland Sports and Pete Brannelly and Matt Panter took over the midfield and dominated the game with Cliff Gardiner and Chris Goulding creating chances. First Chris Goulding headed on for David Jones to finish with ease for Langland's third goal and then Jones grabbed his second from the move of the game started by Ricki Mills in goal.
In the remaining ten minutes of this game Sean Ormsby hit the upright and had one saved on the line and Christ Postans hit a 30 yard shot that the keeper finger-tipped over the bar. As always with Langland's dominating Goodrest broke away to score their second through Mark Underhill.
Tomorrow (Saturday) Langlands Sports have no fixture. On Saturday, December 29 Langland Sports travel to Hindlip Worcester HQ to play Fernhill Heath Spurs, players meet 12.45pm at Dukes Meadow with a 2.15pm kick-off. Any problems please ring Lou or Cliff on (01684) 569705.
