WITH two changes to last week's side, Stu Summers and Rob Kelly coming in to replace the injured Phil Smalley and Dean Henman, Express were forced into playing with a bare 11 but battled well and played some attractive football to record their third win in a row without conceding a goal.

Man of the match Rob Kelly, aged 19, made his debut at left back alongside Cole, Evans and Clack all somewhat his senior in years and fitted in well to ensure Express keeper Summers was rarely troubled for 90 minutes.

Express made another explosive start, Mark Taylor dispossessing a Spurs defender and opening the scoring on two minutes.

For the remainder of the half it was constant Express pressure as they created chance after chance without finding the target to kill the game off before the interval.

After the break Express again pushed on from the kick off in a game which they were still controlling and a good through ball from Hill saw Mark Taylor score his second of the game, and 17th in 15 games, with a cracking shot from 20 yards after beating his defender.

Tireless midfield work from Hill, Leah, Bottomley and Jenno Kootstra kept Express forwards Taylor and Alan Preece busy on a heavy pitch before Kootstra broke the offside trap with a run from his own half, which he firmly converted after the Spurs keeper pushed his first effort onto the post.

This was Jenno's last game for the Express as he has now returned to Holland and we wish him all the best and hope to see him again, he will be keeping up with results and news from the Express web site at www.express88fc.cjb.net

Thanks to Andy Bottomley for putting that together and to Quest Communications and Gerry Deegan for their continued support and sponsorship.

This Sunday Express are away to Birdport, players meet 9.30am at The Express.
