THE Inter-Club Triples Bowls League has had a stuttering start with the leaders having played four games and the bottom club only one game.

Not too much should therefore be read into the league positions, but nevertheless well done to Eastnor who rose to the top after a good win against Malvern Hills last Saturday by 80 shots to 67.

The teams were quite evenly balanced on four of the triples but Val Pedlingham succeeding by 22 shots to 11 made all the difference having won 12 of the 18 ends in regular ones and twos. Gerald Jones got a four on the sixth end and a three on the 11th end to just run out the winners on their rink by 16 shots to 14.

Despite this loss Malvern Hills hang on to second place, although it's a close situation with Gloucester, who had a resounding victory over Ledbury by all 14 points. The overall score was 156 shots to Gloucester with only 43 shots against on all five rinks.

Mike Colliers' side must have played exceptionally well to win on 16 of the ends and only losing singles on the other two, to win 48 shots to two. Ron Wilkes also skipped a high scoring match to win 36 shots to seven and losing only five of the 18 ends played.
