ALL David Suffolk wants for Christmas is a place at a Worcester school.

The 12-year-old has not spent a single day in the classroom since his parents refused to accept a place at Elgar Technology College.

His father, Mark, has since been sent three attendance orders by Worcestershire County Council, which is demanding he send David to the school in Bilford Road.

Now, the family, Bodiam Close, Warndon Villages, is waiting for a court summons in the New Year.

"David's got a school place on his Christmas list, as well as the usual presents," said mum Lin."There's nothing else we can do now though. It's going through all the red tape."

She said the last of the orders was sent in November.

"The council has got to make the decision sooner or later but we're none the wiser," said Mrs Suffolk, who has changed her working hours to take care of David.

"It's a nightmare, but until this goes through court we don't know what's going to happen.

"It's unfair on David. He's been to the library to get books and he's watching the school programmes on the television.

"But there's no teaching involved and no work for him to do.

"You've got to have something there to test him otherwise there isn't much point."

The education row started in May, when the family tried to secure a place for David at Nunnery Wood High.

His brother Daniel, who is 14 and in Year 10 at the school was transferred from Elgar Technical College after incidents of bullying.

The Suffolks felt David would be better off at the same school as his brother, and he would be at risk of bullying himself if he went to Elgar.

"We can confirm Mr Suffolk has received three letters," said a Worcestershire County Council spokesman.

"The matter is now in the hands of the solicitor who deals with the magistrates court."
