KINGTON Cricket Club are celebrating promotion to the Birmingham League following a successful appeal to the England and Wales Cricket Board.
The Worcestershire County League champions were initially refused promotion because their Recreation Ground home is not available for two Saturdays during the season because of other events.
But after agreeing to use the Dales ground in Leominster on those dates, they were accepted into the league and will play in Division Two West next season.
Kington spokesman Kevin Gwynne said: "We are delighted that the decision has been reversed. We have to forget what has happened over the last three months and look forward in a positive way."
Worcestershire County League spokesman Alan Bayley added: "I am delighted -- and so too are the league representatives -- that common sense has won the day."
