MALVERN Aikido Club gained two First Dan black belts at a British Ki-Aikido Association seminar held in Broadstairs, Kent.
They are Malcolm Cowell and Jason Ryder, who both achieved this grade after seven years of hard work.
The club took home another award when its chief instructor, Ian Hollman, was presented with his Third Dan after nearly 20 years in the sport.
Aikido is a gentle but powerful martial art that uses the attacker's strength and weight against their opponent, and utilises arm and wrist locks to throw the opponent.
The martial art is suitable for men and women of all sizes and abilities.
The club practices on Monday nights at the Wyche Institute, Malvern Wells with a Wednesday evening session planned for the New Year.
For more information contact Sensei Ian Hollman on 01684-561575.
