I WAS impressed with John Wardle's letter (You Say, December 8) trying to persuade Worcester City Council to press ahead with more park-and-rides, something they should have done more than a decade ago.
The abuse of bus lanes is because the people who do it have little or no regard for others, especially those using public transport.
It should also be pointed out to him that bus lanes serve very little use when the outgoing buses are gridlocked in the same traffic as everyone else, a point most local authorities seem to overlook nationwide.
It would be fantastic if Malvern people could have a park-and-ride on the west side.
But would he be such an evangelist for the system if acres of green fields at the end of his road were to be covered in black asphalt, a forest of traffic lights were to spring up and gallons of white paint spread across the road?
