PEOPLE in Droitwich are being urged to think green when they finally throw out their Christmas waste.
Wychavon District Council wants householders to recycle cards and trees.
"Christmas is an expensive time for many of us and cards and trees are on display for such a short time over the festive period," said the authority's waste management officer, Louise Warner.
"But it's not such a waste if you recycle them."
Christmas trees can be recycled at Webbs of Wychbold, off Worcester Road, and David's Nurseries, Martin Hussingtree, near Droitwich, between Wednesday, January 2 and Saturday, January 12 .
Christmas cards can be taken to WH Smith in Victoria Square, Droitwich, or to the council's recycling bins.
