Bishampton Utd 6, Martley Spurs 3
UNITED'S previous three games had yielded 18 goals and Saturday's game continued in the same vein.
The home team went ahead after only six minutes when Greg Mason went past three defenders in the penalty area before slipping the ball under the Martley keeper.
As with other games the lead didn't last long and Adam Baldwin fired in the equaliser from 20 yards.
The next period of play saw the home team apply pressure to the visitors' defence and Bish-ampton went ahead for the second time. Andrew Murphy collected Matt Bicknell's thro-ugh pass and placed the ball past Phil Lane in the Martley goal.
Martley, striving to get their second equaliser, enjoyed their best period of the game with their forwards beginning to get the better of the home defence.
The pressure paid off after 28 minutes when a Wesley Strat-ford shot took a wicked deflection and left goalkeeper Rob Bille stranded.
With both teams attacking at every opportunity more goals were on the cards and it was Bishampton who took the lead for a third time.
Bicknell collected a Mark Taylor pass and crashed the ball into the net from 18 yards.
The second half was only four minutes old when Bishampton went further ahead. Bicknell was again involved as he supplied the pass for Murphy to score his second.
The home team were now in control and Mason was proving a handful to the visitors' defence and created several chances for his colleagues.
Martley threw themselves a lifeline in the 75th minute when substitute Chris Collins headed in from close-range. However, any hopes of a comeback were soon dashed as 15-year-old substitute Adam McNicholas scored from close-range after good work by Hareesh Sinh.
Mark Brimmell then sent Sinh clear of the Martley defence and his square pass was knocked in from close-range by McNi-cholas for his second goal to seal a comfortable home win.
For the majority of the second half Bishampton paraded two 16-year-olds, in Sinh and Myles Fenn, as well as the younger McNicholas, and they all played an important part in the victory in a match sponsored by Dud-ley's Coaches of Inkberrow.
