I DISCOVERED these words in The Sunday Telegraph and I quote: "They (The European Commissioners) insist... that the Commission itself, with its exclusive right to initiate legislation, must be the real government (of Europe) with the Council of Ministers (which consists of all the European Prime Ministers) merely playing an advisory role."
Doesn't that mean that Commissioners, like Neil Kinnock and Leon Brittan, who are not elected by the British people, will run Europe? And if unelected commissioners, who are not answerable to the people of Europe, run Europe, doesn't that make Europe a dictatorship?
How can such a Europe be democratic, if the directly-elected European Parliament is merely a revising, and rubber-stamping chamber, for laws designed by unelected European Commissioners?
If the directly-elected European Parliament is not the supreme authority within Europe, doesn't that violate our Human Rights to self-determination, as a guaranteed under the United Nations Charter? Americans wouldn't tolerate this destruction of their liberty and freedom so why do we?
