LOVERS of Gilbert and Sullivan are in for a treat in the New Year. Worcester's G & S Society is presenting HMS Pinafore with Trial by Jury at the Festival Theatre, Malvern, from January 22-26.
The operettas are two of the most popular Gilbert and Sullivan masterpieces, and because of their short duration, will be performed together in a novel way. The trial will be staged on board HMS Pinafore. Audiences will be able to follow the fortunes of Edwin and Angelina on board from budding romance to breach of promise.
The show, produced by Sue Coleman, will be traditionally costumed, and the ever-popular David Whithouse will be musical director. For tickets, from £5 to £10, contact the Festival Theatre box office on 01684 892277.
