CHAMPION Helen Weaver has kicked out for a national trophy after 14 months training.
The blue belt is U-16s over-155cm advanced World United Martial Arts British Open holder.
Kidderminster's Weaver, 15, won at Cheltenham against the best of Wales, Scotland and Ireland after being crowned English champion.
The Stourport High School pupil also finished second in a European championship and trains hard at Stourport's Eclipse Martial Arts Centre.
Her dad Richard said: "Helen wasn't pinning all her hopes on winning but she's well chuffed now.
"It was quite evenly matched but there were higher belts than her competing.
"She starts the ladies next April and will be aiming for titles in the U-65kg section."
