A MAN who attacked a guest after a wedding reception and knocked out two of her teeth has been jailed for 21 months.
John Baker, 24, of Hurcott Road, Kidderminster, was convicted of assault causing physical harm on Mrs Kelly Whall .
The conviction came after a trial at Worcester Crown Court in October.
It was alleged he carried out the attack after they had both attended his mother's wedding reception.
He claimed Mrs Whall had disrupted the proceedings.
Baker said he had punched her in the face in self defence after she had started hitting him.
Nicolas Cartwright, prosecuting, said Baker had a record of 21 court appearances for 38 offences.
The attack on Mrs Whall took place the weekend before he was due in court for another offence.
Baker had since made changes in his life, said Louise Muir-Wilson, defending.
He had stopped drinking and drug-taking and has since started a relationship.
