Officials at Hereford Racecourse were forced to abandon yesterday's National Hunt meeting because of frost.
Deputy clerk of the course Jason Loosemore said: "We unfortunately had to decide to abandon racing. The forecast wasn't promising enough basically and the frost was well set in.
"We needed a good blast of warm air to move it and that wasn't forecast to arrive until the afternoon."
Hereford was one of seven meetings yesterday to fall victim to the frost -- the others were Sedgefield, Towcester, Wetherby, Market Rasen, Huntingdon and Ayr.
