JAN Molby admitted that two-goal hero Bo Henriksen almost missed out on Kidderminster Harriers 4-1 Nationwide League Division Three demolition of high-riding Rochdale at Aggborough yesterday.
The Harriers chief revealed the on-loan Danish front-runner had only been passed fit shortly before the kick-off because of a groin strain.
Molby said: "I was toying with the idea of leaving him out and keeping him fresh for Saturday's match against Hull, but I'm delighted I didn't.
"He got his two goals and his overall play was excellent. He hadn't trained since Friday, but he felt good and felt it was right to play.
"He's been very frustrated with himself that he hasn't managed to score more goals, but even when he hasn't been scoring I think his play has been good."
Henriksen struck at the start and end of the first half with Harriers impressive tally being made up by a goal each for Mark Blake and Dean Bennett.
For Kidderminster, watched by their highest crowd of the season - 3,856 - it was their fifth win in their last six league matches.
It also equalled their biggest victory since joining the Football League.
Molby said: "We didn't play consistently well for the 90 minutes, but maybe we were paying the price for having played just one league game in 32 days.
"We felt when we beat York 4-1 the scoreline flattered York and I think we can safely say it's the same against Rochdale.
"To score four against Rochdale, who are normally very strong defensively, is good, but we had chances to score six, seven or eight.
"But the positive thing is we have been creating chances for a while now and we are playing some good stuff.
"We have an impressive scoring record in our last four league games at Aggborough with 13 goals and that's as good as anyone.
"We said before the game that we needed an early goal because Rochdale would get men behind the ball and they would try and catch us on the break or with set-pieces. So to get an early goal was great.
"Our play in the first 25 minutes justified a second and third but we didn't get it and they came back into it, but in the second half we were very comfortable."
Kidderminster got off to the best possible start by scoring their first ever Football League goal against Rochdale by striking in the fourth minute.
Henriksen was the man on the mark when he netted after Stamps had set up Richie Appleby for a shot which broke loose to the Dane who scored from ten yards.
Rochdale, however, gradually began to drag themselves into the game and Michael Oliver equalised on 38 minutes when he finished off a build up by Darren Dunning and Clive Platt.
Harriers were back in front a minute before half time when a corner by Appleby reached Henriksen whose shot deceived keeper Steve Banks who allowed the ball to enter the net through his arms and legs.
Nine minutes after the break a well worked corner routine ended with a cross by the eye-catching Danny Williams being perfectly placed for Blake to head home.
Shortly afterwards the game entered an undisciplined phase and in the space of five mad minutes there were five bookings, four of them involving Rochdale players.
Kidderminster, however, continued to impress and after Colin Larkin had been denied by Banks, leading scorer Bennett completed the scoreline by running from the half way line to slot home his sixth goal in the last six league matches.
