MORE than 30 people with learning disabilities have been transferred to new homes following the closure of a Kidderminster residential home.
Ashbourne House, Chester Road North, closed its doors on Sunday, December 23 and the 31 residents were placed in other accommodation.
Worcestershire County Council's learning and disabilities manager Roger Painter said the council had found temporary and permanent places for 28 people, and three were being transferred by the various local authorities responsible for them.
He said some of the residents had been there since the home opened in the late 1970s following their transfer from the former Lea Castle Hospital. He added the council had been given 28 days notice of the closure by the owner.
