COSTUMES worn by such famous Shakespeare actors and actresses as Sir Michael Redgrave and Diana Rigg are now on view at a new exhibition in Stratford.
The exhibition, which features outfits from A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Merchant of Venice, has just opened at the Royal Shakespeare Company's Swan Theatre.
Visitors to the exhibition can also take a look at displays of theatre memorabilia from the archives and find out more about the history of the Stratford theatres through the years.
In addition, the Reading Room has poster designs, copies of past and present reviews and a set of recently acquired Braille copies of Shakespeare's plays.
David Howells, RSC curator, said: "I am very excited to have a new display that visitors can relate to the productions on stage.
"Having so many wonderful costumes, worn by some of the great actors of the 20th century, has made the exhibition a delight to work on, and I am sure visitors will share in this pleasure."
Opening times of the exhibition are Monday to Friday 1.30 to 6.30pm, Saturday 10.30am to 6.30pm and Sunday 11.30am to 4.30pm. Admission is £1.50.
