KIDDERMINSTER AND DISTRICT PROBUS CLUB - On November 21 Ingrid Pasteur spoke about the Trade Justice Movement which aims to encourage trade from the third world countries.
She told about the Traidcraft company which was set up to purchase goods and crafts from the third world, ensuring that the producers get a fair deal.
At the previous meeting Nigel Kitney a crop protection specialist, talked about the use of modern sprays.
He told how the sprays have to undergo a lengthy "vetting" before they are approved as safe. A discussion on the effects of sprays on the environment and wildlife followed his talk.
In December Christmas entertainment was provided by Cum Sing Wi' We.
Members also visited the Rose Theatre, and held the annual Christmas lunch.
