CHILDREN in hospital during the festive season were showered with gifts thanks to a Worcester health club.
New members at Cannons Health Club on Droitwich Road were offered a cut-price joining fee in return for donating toys to children at Ronkswood Hospital.
More than 70 presents were delivered by Santa to the Worcester Mental Health Trust's Child and Family Services department.
Organisers hailed the scheme a great success.
"We were so pleased with the fund-raising efforts of staff and members," said Sue McDevitt, Cannons' general manager.
"I know the unit does not get much publicity so we were pleased to take up the challenge."
Nationally, the Cannons group raised £140,000 for mental health charity MIND.
