AN aid worker from Malvern who was part of the humanitarian effort for Afghan refugees arrived back home just in time for Christmas.
Chris Dyer, of North Malvern, was back with his family on Friday after spending weeks working as part of an Oxfam team in Iran.
The logistics expert and registered engineer for disaster relief was helping the charity set up camps near the Iran's borders with Afghanistan.
"It went well," he said. "It didn't turn out to be quite the emergency crisis we thought it was going to be."
The Oxfam team worked with the Iranian Red Crescent - the equivalent of the Red Cross - to assess the exact depth of the humanitarian situation exacerbated by the war in Afghanistan.
