I HAVE every sympathy with Tony Hunaban and the 'Save Malvern Car Parks Action Group' (Your Letters, December 7). Car parking can be a real problem although there is usually plenty of room at the Splash or elsewhere in the town.
I cannot agree to be part of a 'massive public opinion against a mighty arrogant council'. I for one am in favour of developing this site (the former treasurer's site) in preference to green field land.
When viewed from the road, the whole area gives the impression of waste ground with cars parked informally and, let us face it, this situation is not going to last forever - it is bound to be built on one day as land is just too valuable.
In answer to the last point made, supposing this land is withdrawn from sale permanently. If this course of action is taken we had better make a proper job of it and build a multi-storey car park - tastefully done of course, to contribute to the prosperity of the town.
