HOW I agree with Martin Eager, (Your Letters, November 30) that there should be caution before considering road restrictions, as "cars will find another route".
He points out that some restrictions are just not policed, despite pressure from him and other councillors. I can tell him that it is not only Hereford Road where motorists ignore traffic signs.
I often walk down Belle Orchard, which has signs prominently placed at each end, preventing use by through traffic. I have never seen a policeman there, but I regularly see cars and vans driving between The Homend and Orchard Lane, without stopping at any of the houses along Belle Orchard.
