SCOTT Barrow has been praised by coach John Brain as he continues his loan spell with Orrell.
The 21-year-old, who has moved to Edge Hall Road for the rest of the season, has already impressed since his switch as he bids to get back into the Worcester Rugby Club reckoning.
He was named man-of-the-match in Orrell's 41-7 demolition of Esher recently and Brain has admitted the centre is beginning to flourish.
"I've watched the tape of the game and Scott did well in the match considering it was his debut," said Brain.
"It was a very open game and he did some good things during the match. Scott is a very positive lad and he wants to do well.
"He understands fully what we want from him and obviously we are keeping a close eye on his progress."
Barrow was an instant hit at Sixways last season after his switch from Rugby League giants St Helens. However, under new coach Brain he struggled to make inroads into the first team and eventually agreed to the loan.
The former Gloucester coach, though, has been pleased with Barrow's reaction since his move.
"I'm pleased to see he is willing to work on different areas of his game," added Brain.
"He's a talented young player but we have told him what to do if he wants to get back into our first team.
"What Scott wants and needs is rugby and, with this agreement, it seems as though he is responding well.
"We held him back from the last Warriors game because we wanted to have a look at Simon Lewis at centre. However, Scott is always in our thinking."
