Hull made a double substitution at half-time, bringing on an extra striker in Dudfield for Greaves and Matthews replaced Whitmore.
Harriers gained a vital second goal on 49 minutes when Larkin at last put the ball in the net.
The striker ran on to Broughton's pass, beat left-back Holt, stepped inside and drilled the ball into the bottom left-hand corner of the net.
The same player had a good chance on 57 minutes after being found by Bennett's right-wing cross but Holt managed to clear the ball off the line.
Henriksen missed an absolute sitter on the hour, turning the ball over the bar from just a yard after Larkin's low cross had run across the goalface.
Broughton volleyed spectacularly over after Harriers again opened up the Hull defence with ease with Appleby the provider from the right wing.
Harriers made it three on 68 minutes when Bennett raced onto Henriksen's flick-on and eventually put the ball into the net from close range.
