A HEALTH warning has been issued after a range of tinned hotdogs were withdrawn from sale after fears of poisoning.
People are also being urged not to open the tins after warnings they could explode causing injury.
The tins of Dulano Hot Dog Sausages and Chira Hot Dog sausages, with sell by dates of September 2004, both of which are sold at Lidl Supermarkets, were withdrawn from sale after it was found they could contain poisonous bacteria.
The warning also includes Smart Price Hot Dog sausages sold by Asda supermarkets, which have sell by dates of September 2003.
A food hazard warning has been issued even though the risk is considered small and there has been no known cases of poisoning from the sausages, which were produced in the Netherlands.
However, complaints have been received about alleged injuries after the cans exploded when opened.
