A FORMER Bromsgrove School student made friends and family proud when he graced the stage of a West End theatre.
Nineteen-year-old Adam Roberts starred in Sunday Night Live at the London Palladium, in a solo performance of a song from the theatre-land hit Miss Saigon.
The Broome teenager, who is currently studying maths at Exeter University, was selected from more than 1,000 hopefuls for the part and travelled from the West Coast to London every weekend for three months to rehearse.
His proud mum, Karen, said: "A coach-load of friends and relatives went down to London to see Adam perform. It was a brilliant show and we were all extremely proud."
However, it is not the first taste of fame for the budding star. Adam started acting at the age of seven, when he joined The Galleon drama group, in Hall Green, Birmingham.
In 1994 he appeared at the Birmingham Rep as the understudy for a character in James and the Snowman, and the following year he starred in the family favourite, Peter Pan.
But his talents do not stop there. He scooped the European and UK champion titles in rock 'n' roll dancing in 2000, partnering his 16-year-old sister, Hannah.
He has also choreographed a show at mac, in Birmingham.
Currently in his first year at university, Adam is hoping to attract the interest of an agent to help him pursue his dreams of stardom.
