FATHER and son Chris and Phillip Harris nearly pulled off a fantastic draw for Droitwich B at West Midland Phones B in the latest round of matches in the Bromsgrove and Redditch Table Tennis League.
They were the only players the Spa team could muster for the Division Two game.
It left them a player short and 3-0 down before they even started.
Chris won his three games, Phillip won one and they narrowly lost the doubles 21-18, 21-18.
It meant Droitwich B were defeated 6-4 in the match.
Dot Sheward and Ian Maybury both won two for the Phones with Chris Hall getting one.
Also in Division Two, the Barnt Green Hornets team of Paul Grigg, Chris Garner and Ivor Anderson were too good for Studley Road.
They won all nine singles games. Studley Road's only victory came in the doubles.
Barnt Green B had a comfortable 8-2 win at home to Newton Works C. Mike Evetts and Ian Scott both won their three games with Jim McGuire recording one victory. Brian Askey and Steve Dimbylow won one each for Newton.
Hillcrest were much too strong for Droitwich C winning 10-0.
Astwood Bank beat SPSP 8-2 in the only Division One match. Ken Southwell starred for the Bank by winning his three games. Nigel Anson and Pete Kelly each had two victories. Steve Nicholls claimed both of SPSP's points.
