DEAR EDITOR - About two years ago the ground either side of a path that leads to the River Salwarpe from Chapel Bridge, in Droitwich, was planted with small shrubs.
A few weeks ago, after they had grown into nice bushy plants - each about three feet high or so - I watched as they were all dug up, slung into a truck and carted off somewhere.
Since then the ground has lain idle.
Every day since I have looked at this spot and wondered at what seems to have been a very fruitless and wasteful exercise.
L E Ewen,
Vines Lane,
Droitwich.
