IT was a mixed weekend for Badsey United as the club's senior side suffered a setback to their top flight title hopes in the Stratford Alliance while the second string starred in the Nursing Home Cup.

Neighbours Rangers were the festive party poopers as goals from Andy Clements and Nick Burrows helped overcome a solitary Steve Trotman strike.

That result allowed Bretforton to extend their lead at the top of the Journal Premier Division despite being held 2-2 by Campden Town.

United Reserves shared six goals with Premier Division strugglers FISSC, but Bidford suffered more misery with a heavy defeat at the hands of Alcester Lions. Steve Dipple hit a hat-trick.

A third struggling Premier outfit, Shipston Excelsior, made sure of a place in the first round with a 4-2 home win over Tysoe United, but first division strugglers Stratford Spartak will be glad of a replay after a 3-3 draw with second division Ilmington.
