MIDLANDS-born comedian Lenny Henry continues his Have You Seen This Man? tour in 2002 with a spring show at Birmingham's Alexandra Theatre, writes Melina Cannon.
Funny, topical and naughty but nice, Lenny aims to bring his powers of observation to bear on his mother's legendary trip to England in the 1950s, growing up in the Black Country, getting older and more.
He promises 'lots of new characters, lots of new jokes, hardly any swearing and no audience participation'.
Lenny also returns to television comedy this winter with the Golden Rose of Montreux award-winning Lenny Henry In Pieces, featuring character sketches and visual humour.
Over the last two decades, he has risen from cult stardom on children's television to being one of Britain's best known and loved personalities.
His first break came after appearing on talent show New Faces and soon became a regular contributor to the anarchic Saturday morning kids' show Tiswas.
He then went on to star with Tracy Ullman and David Copperfield in Three Of A Kind, followed by the successful Lenny Henry Show.
More recently, he concentrated on a drama career in the Lucy Gannon school drama Hope and Glory.
Lenny Henry performs at the venue on Thursday, April 18, and tickets cost £15.50 and £16.50 from the ticket hotline on 0870 607 7544.
