RESIDENTS in Headless Cross have called for improved security for a badly lit car park after suffering nuisance from pub goers, writes Becky Procter.
The car park off Evesham Road, for tenants only, is used by nearby pub customers and residents have complained to Redditch Council about people vomiting, making noise and urinating at night.
In a housing management sub-committee report, council officers stated car parking along the road was restricted and one of the two pubs nearby had no car park.
Residents have petitioned for better security at the car park and councillors were set to agree to implement certain measures tonight.
Security improvements will include replacing the existing sign with a new lit sign, stating the car park is for residents only, installing two wall-mounted security lights and putting up an additional lighting column.
The report also stated police had been informed of the problem and had agreed to patrol the area at certain times to help with security.
