ACTING president Sheila O'Shaughnessy asked members to observe a minute's silence in memory of Vi Bissell, a member for many years who had died recently.
Sheila told members that as the AGM had been unresolved in November, it had been proposed she be the acting president for the Christmas party and work with the new committee, and a further vote would take place in January.
Then it was time for the entertainment, which was the Morning Dew, otherwise known as Mike and Pat, whose talk was entitled A Victorian Christmas.
Mike talked about the old tunes that make up well known carols of today and demonstrated how they would have sounded long ago, by playing a melodeon and Pat accompanied him on the drum.
Tea and mince pies were served while Pat and Mike judged the best mince pie competition. Gwen Bent won the prize and then the raffle was drawn for a variety of gifts.
