TOWNSFOLK are being urged to join together in unity and improve their quality of life following the success of a scheme set up in Church Hill almost three years ago, writes Becky Procter.
Abberley Close Tenants and Residents Association was created to bring people together to discuss problems and concerns they had living in the area.
Redditch Council provided residents with training on how to run and organise a committee and monthly meetings were arranged.
But because the group has become stronger and problems have been aired and dealt with, meetings are now only held if something specific comes up.
Last summer the group went to West Midlands Safari Park and two weeks ago 16 children from the close were taken to the pantomime at the Palace Theatre.
