NOVICE racer from Fladbury, Dan Greg-ory, enjoyed a Boxing Day bonanza at Mall-ory Park.

The 28th annual Plum Pudding Handicap saw the 26-year-old take first place in the opening Formula 600 Class after starting 14th on the grid.

Riding a standard Kawasaki 2x6R Chapman Tyrrell, Price Ceiling Services sponsored bike, Gregory then raced to second in his second event.

And then to cap a truly memorable road race debut, Gregory made a flying start from 16th on the grid to take a second runner-up spot and record the fastest recorded lap in his third outing.

"Old Hands," Ted Roebuck and Mark Tyrrell were also in festive action with the former taking the chequered flag in the 125cc Grand Prix - a mixed race with 400cc machines.

There was disappointment for Tyrrell who slid off on the warm-up lap after the race was stopped with the Evesham man in pole position.

Agony turned to ecstasy in a second Grand Prix race - shortened to five laps, when Tyrrell stormed ahead to take a deserved win and record the fastest lap ahead of second placed Roebuck.
