FAMILY and friends paid their respects to a community figure at a memorial service at Tardebigge on November 24.
Peggie Goodman OBE, 88, from Bromsgrove, leaves behind seven children, Jolyon, Nigel, Susan, Gay, Robin, Linda and Rachel.
Married to her husband Bob since 1935, Mrs Goodman worshipped at Tardebigge Church for 67 years.
She was an inspiration to the community, a founder member of Finstall WI and appointed Justice of the Peace in 1950, serving on the Bromsgrove Bench for 30 years.
She was also chairman of the Board of Visitors of Hewell Grange and a visitor of Brockhill Remand Centre and was awarded her OBE in 1975 for services to the public.
Her son Nigel said: "She was a wonderful mother and did much for the community.
"People will remember her for her personality and she will be missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren."
