A COUPLE who have lit up the lives of their neighbours for six years have scooped the accolade of best seasonal spangles.
Gillian and Arthur Jones, of Vicarage Road, Stone, have won the inaugural best Christmas decorated house competition.
Not only has their home proved the highlight of festive dcor but they have raised £300 for the Air Ambulance. And the hard work began two months ago.
Gillian said: "Arthur starts work in November. I act as foreman telling him where to put the decorations, which often leads him to ask if I would prefer to get on the roof!
"It is a real team effort and we were very surprised and pleased to win this award."
Now they can plan an even more spectacular display next year after winning £100 of festive lights as their prize.
The competition, organised by Bewdley mayor Carol Gittins, attracted more than 30 entries across the district.
Three teams comprising three district mayors, carnival princesses and officials spent more than four hours each judging the entries.
