A MYSTERY Bewdley collector is £42,500 better off this New Year after figurines fetched a fine price at auction.
The collector, who does not want to be named, had 54 Royal Worcester figures and animals up for grabs at Halls Fine Art's auction in Shrewsbury.
Dealers and collectors nationwide attended the auction which also attracted a telephone bid from Australia.
Top price in the collection was £7,000 for a model titled Circus Horses.
Jeremy Lamond, ceramics expert for Halls Fine Art, which has a Kidderminster office, was delighted with the sale.
He said: "It attracted international interest with the bidding being dominated by two or three major buyers.
"It was an excellent result to complete a highly successful year for us."
Other prices included £1,300 for an American saddle horse and £1,150 for an Aberdeen Angus bull and the Duke of Wellington.
