The Wyre Forest and District Centre met at Blakedown parish room in December, when Richard Offen, manager of the trust's Neptune Coastline Campaign, gave a talk.
The project was launched in 1965, and over the years £38 million has been raised to protect 600 miles of coastline.
Richard told about the development of ports, harbours and fishing fleets, when Britain relied on the sea for commerce and food, and smuggling was a huge industry. The introduction of railways in 1841 brought an upsurge in seaside holidays.
Richard was presented with a cheque for £1,000 towards the preservation of more of Britain's coastline.
