A GROUP of Evesham Venture Scouts are showing the advantages of sticking together as all 10 are gaining a top award.
The members of the Galaxy Venture Scout Unit received their Queen's Scout Award at a presentation night at Hampton Scout Hall last Saturday (Dec 29).
The award marks the culmination of a four-year programme of disciplines the Venture Scouts had to undertake to earn the award - the highest in the Scout organisation.
Leader Bernard Totterdell said: "It is very unusual for a complete Venture Scout unit to do this together. It is usual to achieve this on a more individual basis and this reason alone makes it an extra special event."
As well as an expedition event in Cornwall last summer, unit members have had to cover disciplines such as leadership training, community training and involvement, creativity, international awareness, environmental issues and independence skills.
