MALVERN Rugby Club will be looking to continue their improved form in Midlands One when Longton visit Spring Lane tomorrow (Saturday).
At the half way stage in the league fixtures, Malvern have picked up ten points and director of rugby Dave Robins is looking to double that tally.
Robins said: "I think the lads have done well to be in this position so far, but we need 20 points to make sure we stay up.
"It's taken us six years to to get here, in Midlands One, and we want to stay. A lot of people have sweated a lot of blood and tears to get us here and we are not going to let that go. We will stay up."
At present Malvern are in mid-table in a block of clubs only divided by a couple of points, however, three teams will be relegated and depending on who else comes down from the division above, two other sides could also find themselves pushed down.
Robins continued: "The game against Longton is really a four-pointer and we will have several more of these because the middle of the table is so tight.
"Although the pitch was bad over at Longton in December it was touch and go. We were under the cosh for long periods but defended well and Andy Longley scored with a penalty with virtually the last kick of the game to secure the points 16-13."
Malvern's team is virtually the same as played in their previous league win at home against Barkers Butts with the only change being George Blakeway in for Ian White at scrum-half, although there is doubt about prop Steve Cooper who is recovering from an infected leg.
The match kicks-off at 2.30pm.
