BOOMING business at a Bransford plant wholesaler has encouraged the firm to submit an application to extend its site.
John Tooby and Company has applied to Malvern Hills District Council for permission to put polytunnels and a glasshouse at its Bransford Nurseries site.
"At the moment a lot of our growing takes place over in Evesham," said nursery manager Geoff Caesar. "Hopefully, we will start to build the new facilities in the summer and we will be ready to move everything over sometime next year."
Mr Caesar said the plan had been drafted in order to solve logistical problems created by the separation of the two sites, as well as providing increased capacity.
He said that recent successes had contributed towards the application.
"Business is good," said Mr Ceasar. "We've had a good season this year and the order books are looking very positive for this spring."
He attributed the success to the nursery's policy of stocking rare and new species, such as the dark-leafed pink geranium it currently has in stock.
